My Favorite Travel Photos

Photography has come to be the backbone of my blog. Of course the writing is important, but it seems like the bulk of each of my posts is made up of pictures! When I first started blogging, I never would have imagined that photos would become so vital to my blog; I thought my main focus would be writing. But alas, I’ve come to love photography and can’t imagine the direction my blog would have gone without it!

DIY Seashell Crafts

Throughout our trip so far, I’ve collected seashells and coral at the beach. I love looking for shells on the shore and in the ocean. It’s spectacular how they wash up into shore with the tides, each one so unique and original. Since I collected so many shells, I decided to capture their beauty by using them to create crafts and decorations. I ended up making shell-filled mason jars and easy seashell necklaces. Florida Keys Vacation: Favorite Things

Last Monday, we drove down to the Florida Keys and stayed down in Key West for a few days. Even though we were only there for a few days, it was an amazing vacation. Now we are back up on the eastern coast of Florida and will be heading back home to the Midwest in a few days, but Key West is still fresh in my mind. Midnight Flights and Florida Sunrises

Our flight to Florida took off at 1:15 am this morning. Through the plane windows, the cities were beautifully light up with bright yellow dots of light. When we finally landed, I had only gotten about 3 hours of on and off sleep, but we had landed early enough to catch the sun rise over the ocean. It totally made up for the lack of sleep. Although it was a bit cloudy this morning, the sunrise was nothing if not spectacular. The sky was a deep blue purple, and pink and gold sun rays peeked through the clouds.
